Maintaining the SCMP Designation

Print

SCMPs are expected to undertake continuous professional development to maintain a level of competency and current knowledge. This is essential to upholding the credibility of the designation. Designated professionals must have the knowledge, skills and attributes to surpass customer expectations throughout their careers.

NBPMI requires that SCMPs obtain 30 maintenance credits every three years. The types of activities that qualify include continuing education (e.g. taking courses, webinars or seminars) profession leadership (e.g. sitting on a Board or Committee), instruction, presentation, writing and research.

A process for recording, reporting and verification ensures compliance.

Please review NBPMI’S updated Continuing Professional Development Policy
(PDF, 52 KB) dated November 2011 for complete details.
